NPIN will support the CDC satellite broadcast "HIV Prevention with Incarcerated Persons," April 27, 2000 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Eastern time. This interactive broadcast presents a public health update on activities and resources for HIV prevention within correctional facilities. Viewers will hear from government and nongovernment spokespersons from throughout the country. Programs in action will also be featured through tours and interviews with staff and clients. Two New CDC Program Announcements CDC announces the availability of fiscal year (FY) 2000 funds for a cooperative agreement program for capacity-building assistance to improve the delivery and effectiveness of HIV prevention services for racial/ethnic minority populations. FY 2000 funds are also available to support community-based organizations to develop, implement, and evaluate state-of-the-art, model, community-based HIV prevention programs for populations at risk for HIV infection, especially racial/ethnic minority populations at risk. Materials for these programs are available on the NPIN Web site for viewing, printing, and downloading. The NPIN site also offers online checklists to assist users in determining their eligibility.
