The following guidelines, listed in reverse chronological order, discuss TB prevention, control, and screening. In this report, the Advisory Council for the Elimination of Tuberculosis reassesses its 1989 plan for the elimination of TB. It calls for sustained and enhanced TB control efforts; new and improved diagnostic, treatment, and prevention methods; and broad-based support for these efforts.

This report provides the CDC recommendations for federal, state, and local TB control programs to improve TB prevention among foreign-born populations in the United States.

This CDC report replaces previous recommendations for the use of anergy skin testing together with purified protein derivative (PPD)-tuberculin skin testing of HIV-positive persons.

These CDC recommendations update and expand previously published recommendations for preventing and controlling TB in correctional facilities.

This document provides guidance for establishing TB prevention, control, and elimination programs for state, city, and county TB programs and for other health departments or hospital outpatient programs such as refugee programs, STD clinics, and acute care and extended healthcare facilities.

Diagnostic standards and classification of tuberculosis: Joint statement of the American Thoracic Society and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Infectious Disease Society of America. American Review of Respiratory Disease. 142(3):725-735, September 1990.
These diagnostic standards provide a classification scheme for TB that is based on pathogenesis and is applicable to all patients.
