The Prevention News Update databases contains over 26,000 abstracts of articles about HIV/AIDS-, STD-, and TB-related events in the news; trends in these epidemics; and research findings from major newspapers, wire services, medical journals and news magazines. About the Prevention News Update Database New articles are abstracted and added to the database daily. The database includes articles from June 1988 to the present. What You Will Find When You Search This Database? The Prevention News Update Database will help you find abstracts of articles written about HIV/AIDS, STDs, and TB which have appeared in journals, newspapers, magazines, and other media sources. The information provided about each article includes the:
How the Database Is Organized The Prevention News Update Database is organized into sections called "fields." For example, "Authors," "Source," and "Major Descriptors," are each separate fields. Together these fields make up the full description of each article in the database; this is called a "record." Your search results will be made up of database records that match your search question. After you enter the information, click on Search. The Results screen will show all articles that match the criteria you entered.
