The HIV/AIDS Treatment Information Service (ATIS) provides information about federally approved treatment guidelines for HIV and AIDS. ATIS is a coordinated Public Health Service project, sponsored by six Public Health Service agencies (CDC, Agency for Health Care Policy and Research, Health Resources and Services Administration, Indian Health Service, National Institutes of Health, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.)

ATIS is staffed by health information specialists who answer questions on HIV treatment options using HSTAT, the National Library of Medicine database of HIV/AIDS treatment information, and other Federal resources. HSTAT is available to the public, free of charge, by computer link. In addition to these resources, ATIS staff can refer callers to an extensive network of Federal information services and national and community-based organizations for treatmen t-related information.

Bilingual health information specialists are available to answer questions from Spanish-speaking callers. Contact ATIS by calling 1-800-HIV-0440 (1-800-448-0440), TTY 1-800-243-7012, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Eastern time. All calls are completely confidential.
